Big Mama & Old Faithful
Mary Queen of Peace Shrine
Mt. Kaglago, Tabgon, Caramoan, Cam. Sur

These are shots taken from my Black Saturday ascent to the shrine for Mary atop the mountain overlooking Catanduanes and the Pacific Ocean. I and my co-teachers had to climb more than 500 steps to reach the gigantic image of Mary. Now it will be replaced by a newer image. It's head is placed at the base of the old image.

what a fascinating image. I wondered how her face had slipped!

And how wonderful is that angel at his desk??

ps; the wings reminded me of the Emily Dickinson poem...

"Hope" is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops -- at all

This must be exhilirating. I am now convinced you do not have agrophobia aside from standing on the cross at your school. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean is enough to make my stomach jump out of my body.
